1. A year ago, I was planning a vacation. |

This year I'm just hoping I'll have enough money to pay the heating bill.

5. Bush was making me sick. I was working for Dean, then Kerry |

Hang gliders were nowhere in the picture.
My biggest concerns today are still Bush-based. I have a friend who calls him "Baby Caligula," which seems more and more apt.
Flu pandemic? Every time Bush opens his yap about it I find myself thinking: Why the big interest now? This has been on the horizon for awhile, and he had no time for it. In fact he has been doing his level best to destroy our public health infrastructure.
Now he's doing the same old fear-mongering, just on a different topic than "terra". The way he talks about the flu is still apocalyptic, and he still wants to call out the Army. Bush would just loooove to impose martial law at home.
The possibility of a flu pandemic is a reality. Terrorists exist. I wish the hell Bush did not exist.

4. A year ago, I was filled with confidence that 11/2 would be ours... |
|
This time last year, I had little doubt that the anticipated Dem voter turnout would, by sheer numbers, be able to overcome any shenanigans perpetrated by state repugs in FL and/or OH.
Fast-forward a year. I sit here STILL very-much dumbfounded by the outcome.:(
