What about today's story about the UAW giving concessions on their health benefits? The corporate media is talking about how expensive the health benefits are and how the cost is making GM non-competitive with Japanese manufacturers. What they're omitting is that the Japanese government takes care of health benefits and the employers do not have to provide it. We need universal health care to be competitive.
