I *ACTUALLY* hear a water sprinkler going! Is weather wacked where U are? |
|
I'm in South Carolina. We just moved here about 2 months ago. It was 70 degrees today and as I sit in my office with the windows open I hear a water sprinkler watering someone's yard.
I spoke to a lawn service mowing my neighbor's yard yesterday and he told me that they won't stop regular mowing until December of this year! WHA????
Is the weather "normal" where you are? I can't tell if this is weird for this area or not. There are kids outside playing basketball and all which is nice, but daaayum it's almost Thanksgiving and I'm in shorts & a t-shirt!!

We normally get 14 inch's rain a year, we just hit 34 inch's. I've watered my yard 3 times this summer. Normally it's 3 times a week. We love it, the local lakes needed it.

3. Welcome to the south Dem Agog! |
|
You can expect this sort of weather through the fall. Enjoy the fall colors. Here in northeast Georgia it was 70 degrees today as well. If you are in the coastal plain you can expect to be wearing shorts during the holidays! If you're in the upstate or piedmont you can look forward to cold, rain, snow and ice during January through March. Then it will be glorious springtime! Where did you come from? You'll enjoy our four seasons here in the south.

7. Hi CottonBear, Thanks! |
|
I hate being in a red state though. :)
Believe it or not I hail from Lilburn, Georgia, but I left Georgia 14 years ago and I have completely forgotten what the weather was like in the winter. :)
We're in the Piedmont region. Should be fun! ;)

8. I used to vacation in Myrtle Beach |
|
The first week of December every year. Weather was still nice, and the cheapest golf packages of the year.
Now wanna talk about crazy?
I live in the Tampa Bay area now, and on Labor Day I flew back into town from a wedding in Cleveland. The last bands of Hurricane Frances had just moved through, and we were one of the first flights allowed into Tampa. Everything was flooded, the bridges and causeways were shut down, but the driving range around the corner from my house had their sprinklers on.

Flooding & sprinklers on!
This is the first house I've lived in with a sprinkler system. We haven't figured out how to use it yet. ;)

12. No such thing as "normal" weather here in the Bay Area of CA |
|
Today it's quite chilly and windy at my house and I have a fire going. Tomorrow there's no telling - it may very well be balmy and warm. Some of my best visits to the beach have been on my birthday in January. They say if you don't like the weather, wait a few hours. It will change.
