|
I also think that Tim took it in good fun, and was able to laugh it off and not make a big deal about it. I've always liked Chris, and IMO he'll poke fun at anyone.

He obviously wasn't pleased, but he was also the bigger man and didn't whine or scream about it. He probably thought something like 'that's just Chris being Chris'

can you see the look on Tim Robbins face? He was joking back.
Haven't you ever flipped someone off joking with them?
Plus IF Tim Robbins was pissed he has enough sense to NOT engage onstage with Chris Rock.
it was a JOKE on both sides.

And I think he has some major misgivings about the NeoCons. He slapped Bush around quite a bit during that show. :P

and he was making a joke. Robbins is known for speaking about politics at any time and at any place. I think that the comment was made in good fun, nothing more. I didn't think anything of it until Penn.

Penn takes things too seriously. He always has, but Tim Robbins has a sense of humor. He knows what people say about him and he is proud of it. Even in the pic, Robbins is smiling while he flips the bird. I have had friends make a joke toward me and I have flipped them the bird while laughing at the same time. I thought that they looked like they were joking around.

Penn's wound a little too tight, sometimes. Great actor, great activist, but I thought his comment sounded rather petulant and pouty.

And Robbins has a history of hijacking the awards shows. I love to hear him talk about different issues and I could listen to him all day long. But people complain about how long the shows are already-and anything past "And the award is presented to..." can be too much.

not that there's anything wrong with that, but he is in everything under the sun. And they all bomb. Maybe if he'd spend more time on one movie, Alfie would have been watchable?
you know the single worst feature of political junkies? the inability to laugh at oneself. Don't take it too personally, you'll live longer.

I certainly think he has potential, but the great actors cannot simply do 10 roles a year. You cannot put the effort into each role. Picasso was a great painter, but if he was whipping out large canvasses at the rate of one a week, his work would suffer, don't you think?

and get over it. It was a joke, and it seems to me that Tim Robbins took it in stride and was laughing about it. It looks to me like, judging from his expression, flipping the bird at Chris Rock was a playful response.

Since he slammed Bush for several minutes. The show was rather tame, by his standards.
And--Tim Robbins was smiling!
