I am so excited! I passed my CSA exam |
|
Once I get my notary public commission I can market myself as a certified signing agent (help people sign loan docs!)

She says you can make some pretty good money being a notary public.

3. As a straight notary, not really |
|
as California only allows notaries to charge $10 per signature, but if one gets into loan document signing, yes.
A mobile notary can charge the clients a travel fee on top of the $10 per signature.

it must be a different process in other states.
Here, its just a matter of an appilication, posting a bond, and a criminal background check. Costs about $50 /yr.
Most doctor's offices and bank branches have notaries here, on top of law firms and the other obvious places.

10. Basically I learned about the typical loan documents |
|
So I can market myself to title companies/mortgage companies as an independent contractor to close loans for their clients. One can make a fairly decent part time to full time income doing this.

My sister is a commissioner of oaths (as they call it here), and makes some nice side money from it. (she's also a paralegal)
