Okay - so I'm looking for a song... |
|
and I'm hoping that someone here can lend me a hand. I'm pretty sure it's vietnam-era, and it's a rock song. I know, that narrows it down. I'm also pretty sure it was popular, but unfortunately I only was able to catch some of the lyrics. I think part of the lyrics go "if i leave this morning..."
Ringing any bells for anyone?

"If I leave here tomorrow?"
That'd be Free Bird.

4. It's been a marathon session. |

That song has been in my head for two days. The only sure-fire way that I have found to get a song out of my head is to listen it to death.
I can't believe you nailed it given what limited info I had (not to mention wrong).

God help me,I get really bad earworms.
A coworker & I used to play "Who can stick the other with the worst earworm" and Free Bird is actually a good choice.

7. Bad advice in the South. . . |
|
There are times (and I live on the coast in FL, which isn't all that southern) when I can get in the car and jump around to five different stations and at least three of them are playing that fucking song, even now. Thank goddess for my iPod!

It's like that here in NC too. At any given point on any given day, you can turn on the radio and that song will be on about 3 out of 5 stations. Also, they play it several times a day on some stations. It is part of the reason I no longer listen to the radio. If I could have done without one thing in my life, it would have been that song. You can never unhear Freebird. :banghead:
