Protest Bush & Snow on Tour in Philadelphia Thursday 7/24/03
Protest President Bush's Failed Economic Agenda.

President Bush and Secretary Snow will be in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Thursday, July 24 on the first stop of the administration's "Jobs and Growth" tour to promote the Administration's Economic Policy which consists of nothing more than his Tax Cut Program.

Philadelphia ACORN and Fair Taxes For All are organizing a rally to protest President Bush's irresponsible tax-cutting agenda that is saddling future generations with mountains of debt and diverting scarce resources from social security, education and healthcare to give tax breaks to millionaires.

In particular, at the rally we will be calling on the President and the Republican leadership in the House to pass the senate child tax credit bill, which would reinstate the child tax credit to the working poor. 12 million children of the working poor were excluded at the last minute from the final tax bill, passed last May, in order to make room for more tax cuts for the nation's wealthiest citizens.

Philadelphia ACORN will have a bus leave from their office at 8:30am and will then travel to the rally. Those interested should contact Philadelphia ACORN at 215 765 0042 or paacorn@acorn.org and RSVP.

If you want to go directly to the site of the protest, we have attached directions from Central Philadelphia (the Philadelphia ACORN office 846 N. Broad St. Philadelphia, PA ) to the protest site at 12900 Townsend Rd, Philadlephia, PA.

It would be helpful for everyone planning to attend the event to contact the ACORN office so that we can estimate crowd size.
