Stupid CNN: Cheney caught cold on recent hunting trip, WTF??
YOU DON'T GET A COLD FROM BEING COLD, YOU STUPID BASTARDS! You get a cold from being exposed to a form of the rhinovirus that you have never had before. Talk about the dumbing down of America.

2. Now, now think PRAVDA in its best days and
Yury Andropov... you are old enough to remember that song and dance and that he also caught a cold in a ... hunting trip.

5. Ha ha... thats right
As an aside, I always thought "And-drop-off" was a very unfortunate name, in a Freudian sort of way.

Just a common cold the more serious it is.

6. They're just quoting that well-known doctor, Mary Matalin
</sarcasm>

Actually if he's short of breath he could well be going into congestive heart failure. It can usually be treated with large amunts of diuretics, but after a while, they just don't work so well any more and a person drowns in their own pulmonary edema.
Not a nice way to go, but then again, Cheney's not a nice man.

Endotracheal tubes, pressure breathing and Lasix in generous ammounts

By the way these are just distant memories from my days as a medic...

But I am not pretending to be a doctor, she is

13. You can get congestive heart failure just by having a pacemaker
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 03:57 PM by Indiana_Dem
sometimes. You are at risk. The pacemaker doesn't always stop irregular heartbeats either especially if it's beating faster than the set rate of the pacemaker. If he took OTC cold medicine it could've caused his heart to beat irregularly, too. An irregular heartbeat can also cause heart failure sometimes, too. SOB sounds like it might be heart failure or an irregular rhythm. Either way, it can be treated.

If it's an outright heart attack, though, in which SOB is a symptom, that might be more serious.

I'm curious to know which it is.

on edit: my grandfather was in the ER not too long ago. He has a pacemaker and he was feeling palpitations and was SOB. Everything was okay and they attributed it to him taking OTC cold medicine with pseudoephidrine (I think) for his cold he had. They prescribed him Zyrtec in place of anything OTC.

8. EKG tests normal per Foxnews
But if the pacemaker is running his heart, the tests would be normal. My dad had a pacer and it made his heart beat every beat. If the pacemaker stopped working, he would have died since his heart couldn't beat on it's own. So, I don't know what to make of this. Unless Cheney's pacer functions in a different way.

9. they were also "intertogating" the pacemaker
which usually is far more serious... I read this as he is not well and they wil be preparing the bots for his imminent demise, in a very Soviet way.

If I am reading this well this cold will evolve into... pneumonia and finally he will die in his sleep

Classic MO for dictartorships, last one to kick the busket this way was Andropov, and I still remember those days of reading tea leaves at the Kremlin, well TEHY'RE BACK, now they apply to the White House

11. I doubt the trip was too strenuous--his idea of hunting is to shoot
pen-raised birds.

from a trip in 2003:
"Monday's hunting trip to Pennsylvania by Vice President Dick Cheney in which he reportedly shot more than 70 stocked pheasants and an unknown number of mallard ducks at an exclusive private club places a spotlight on an increasingly popular and deplorable form of hunting, in which birds are pen-reared and released to be shot in large numbers by patrons. The ethics of these hunts are called into question by rank-and-file sportsmen, who hunt animals in their native habitat and do not shoot confined or pen-raised animals that cannot escape.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported today that 500 farm-raised pheasants were released yesterday morning at the Rolling Rock Club in Ligonier Township for the benefit of Cheney's 10-person hunting party. The group killed at least 417 of the birds, illustrating the unsporting nature of canned hunts. The party also shot an unknown number of captive mallards in the afternoon."

(scroll to bottom to read)

I thought that Cheney and his equally repellent buddy Scalia sat in chairs while they shot farm-raised birds. The excesses of European royalty pale in comparison to the antics of these bully-boy clowns. What a pathetic example of wimpy little men desperate to prove their virility.

it's not a hunting trip, it's a shooting frenzy. SCARY that this is organized by the VP...tells us a LOT about their mentality

19. That is absolutely disgusting.

I wonder if he has also participated in those hunts in Texas where they release a large, "big game" cat like a panther from a cage in front of the hunters?

12. Well, it could also be a sign of a depressed immune system
It's been proven in numerous studies that people under stress are far more likely to develop illness and infections. A lot of pathogens are already in your body at any given time just waiting for an opportunity.

good health, like Mao. I do not wish bad health on anyone and in his case I would much rather see him in an orange jump suit.

22. He's not losing it
It's just that it's the stupid way that Cheney's people have to try to make you think that Cheney's some big courageous gun-toting hunter. Catching a cold while bowling in Peoria isn't anywhere's near as macho as catching a cold while out hunting, at least not in the eyes of his worshippers. Kerry can hunt geese, but only an avid he-man like Cheney can get a cold while doing it.

I am tired and I can't think, Who is next in line if Cheney bites it with this "hunting cold"?
