Any reports from the Iraq-war protests? How are they going? |
|
Our entire family is down with the flu today, so I am unable to participate in the protests. :(
I know it's ridiculous to expect CNN to give the protests the coverage and attention they deserve--but I've had CNN on all day. I've only seen a few seconds from an Iraq-war protest overseas.
I'm not shocked by the lack of coverage, but I am wondering how everyone is doing and how the protests are going.
It would be wonderful to hear reports from the various protests...number of attendees, cool signs, other interesting happenings.
I'm with everyone in spirit...

4. I just posted in NC Forum. My local NC station only showed 15 Freeps |
|
Edited on Sat Mar-19-05 12:58 PM by KoKo01
interviewed one who said she was upset that people would "protest the troops." No pictures of the protestors, no discussion of the issues and no counter to the woman interviewed who said Peace Marchers were protesting the troops. Showed pictures of PA System set up for Freeps to give speeches...no one was there..just two speakers and a receiver on the ground. One "veteran" with medals all over who looked like a vagrant, was supposed to be there to "defend the troops." "News 14 Raleigh" (an all news station...Time-Warner).
CNN showed pictures of what they said were 10's of thousands of protestors in London who marched by the US Embassy, but then cut to an interview with Soldiers in Iraq who are serving their second tour of duty who are so happy to be back in Iraq so that they can "finish the job of bringing Democracy to Iraq." Disgusting poke it in our eye to make it look like we don't have any protestors here, they are all in Great Britain.
C-Span has nothing. I didn't check out MSNBC because by now I'm fuming and screaming at the TV.
This is total crack down. Let's hope the Networks will have better coverage tonight.
I will check out my local ABC Affiliate tonight. In the past they have had pretty good coverage of all our protests. At least they showed protests and didn't dwell on Freepers.
