and it is insulting to those of us who supported him because we would NOT base our support on race or gender. That is all I m,eant.I think something else is going on, but as a supporter we should at least have been given some warning or an email.

43. I heard about this yesterday morning. |
|
You have to realize that most of those emails come from staffers. They aren't the candidate speaking to supporters, and it's just a tactic to make supporters feel "close" to the candidate. The candidate may say to a staffer like Trippi or a head writer "Send something out on the wire that says I think suchnsuch or that I'm going to do so-and-so." But it's not their words. Half the time they don't even know what went out, especially if it's boiler-plate from the stump speech.
Trippi was probably too busy looking to jump to one ship or another to bother telling someone to gin one up.
For all we know, Mrs. E got some horrible news and it's a shorter time to worse news than they previously thought. I can't blame JE for putting the wife first. I'd do the same if I were in his shoes. He realized he wasn't bringing it, so it does make sense to step aside...not TO LET HISTORY take its course, but AND let history take its course. Because that will happen, no matter what the end result is.

let history take its course (or to that effect). I took that to mean people are looking for the history making first woman or first black president.
it was not his message. It was the "rock" stars from the perspective of the media and what people are tuned into.

46. Just a guess, but I think the Ted and Caroline endorsement |
|
made him think harder about the historic nature of this campaign. Seeing Obama linked to the Camelot mystique was powerful and suggested that sometimes we have to go with our longing for an inspiring, fresh political outlook. Caroline's new ad for Obama relives the JFK promise. Hearing her voice and seeing her speak is just very moving. New beginnings...

One wouldn't announce receiving a threat, would one? The sudden nature of this turnaround makes me wonder. And if anyone thinks about flaming me about defaming one of the other candidates, don't bother, because I'm not specifying the source of any possible threat.

21. Yes he did, and that's why I wonder what the real reason is |
|
I believe he was genuinely committed to pushing his progressive platform as far as it would go, and the campaign was showing some signs of catching on recently--better fundraising, a little more attention in the media. There are interests that would find that dangerous.

33. That's a nice thought |
|
But why would media parents like G.E. want to listen to a bunch of liberal progressives?
They make untold bundles by keeping themselves out of regulation, keeping the middle-class and lower-class concerns out of money and that money into their pockets, and by profiting from controlling the resources of the world with the war machine created on the backs of the poor, killing anyone who gets in their way?
Why would they listen to us? They haven't been yet.

there's no way in hell you were voting for Clinton anyway. You've made that very clear for a few months. You've been pretty nasty toward her and her supporters.
That being said, not voting for a candidate because of what *I* say is dumb. If you don't like me - and you don't - then don't vote for me. I am not my avatar.

I think Obama is slipping in the exit polls with "white voters".
Edwards did say suspended, and is on the ballot. So he will still take his delegates to the convention. And if he happens to have a few extra then so be it.
This N.H guy used his one vote to send delegates all the way to the convention! Yeeee haaaa!

But then I can dream, can’t I?
