When Rush Limbaugh get his *ss handed to him by Colin Powell.. |
|
Can the pie be far behind :). When the incoming president has a 79% over all approval rating, and the hell hounds of talk radio are getting filed down by the working person for selling them out..I am seeing blue skies, peeking out from under all those clouds
"I think the party has to stop shouting at the world and at the country,"Powell said. "I think that the party has to take a hard look at itself, and I've talked to a number of leaders in recent weeks and they understand that." Powell, who says he still considers himself a Republican, said his party should also stop listening to conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
"Can we continue to listen to Rush Limbaugh?" Powell asked. "Is this really the kind of party that we want to be when these kinds of spokespersons seem to appeal to our lesser instincts rather than our better instincts?"

6. I really hope he sticks around in the Republican party. |
|
I really don't want him in our party, with as compromised as he is from the run up to the Iraq invasion, but I think he could be a really positive force for meaningful change for the Repub party.

14. Yeah? I didn't think Bush would "win" either. |
|
I'd rather have an opposition party I didn't have to be AFRAID of having in office.

rejected. Hagee, Savage, Coulter, Phelps, Limbaugh and KKK elements are scary, but the U.S. is becoming more enlightened.

10. ...stop listening to conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. |
|
A lot of good that will do now. Powell should have pushed for this when he was in the military and the Bush administration. Isn't Rush broadcasted on the Armed Forces Radio?

11. I don't hate colin powell, BUT.. |
|
I don't revere him either. The UN debacle of him holding up the infamous "vial" and hawking the Iraq war is still a too vivid, recent memory for me.
I remember thinking he looked like a deer caught in headlights and that was disturbing to me. He was a respected military voice that could have been THE voice of reason during that awful time and he miserably failed.
Has he tried to redeem himself, yes. Does it change the outcome of an illegal and immoral war that has claimed the lives of so many, NO.
I'm happy and content over the results of the recent election, but not so much that I am willing to forget or forgive the hands on involvement of colin powell. Too many people are dead or left forever devastated by the supported actions of those in office at that terrible time, and I just can't resolve that in my mind.

He smacked down Limburger and Failin. I hope they keep moving further to the right and alienating liberals and independents. I think the GOP plan to oppose every piece of Democratic legislation will be a nice shot in the foot for them.
