Inauguration no ball for Young Republican group
January 20, 2009 6:28 PM | No Comments

*snip*

At Dugan's, an Irish bar in Greektown, about a hundred Young Republicans came together tonight to share their pain and plan for 2010.

..
Nick Schrock said he listened to the inauguration speech while working out on a treadmill.

"Obama's speeches are like listening to Enya. You feel good while you listen, but afterwards, you've forgotten the words." said Schrock, 27, a computer engineer from the West Loop.
...

Laura Kotelman, 36, communications director for the Young Republicans and a Chicago native, said the event was "a good way to get together and get ready for 2010." Kotelman said she did not watch today's ceremony.

"I had to work," she said. "I had to earn the wealth that will be redistributed." She works in business development for a global law firm.

21. After a 10 hour baking shift last nite, I'd love to lace on my big scary boots
and teach that lily-livered parasite what work, and labor, and wealth really is.

I'm tired of my wealth being redistributed to people who ultimately do nothing for other humans.

2. No wonder the Republicans suck at governing.
They spend all their energy trying to think up sarcastic one-liners.

And they're not really good at that either.

:eyes:

4. I didn't have to work. See, I have these things called "benefits"
and one of my "benefits" is paid time off. I simply requested teh day off with my boss, he approved, and I didn't have to go to work.

It was easy, and while I had my day off, I was still earning my wealth.

5. Rheta Grimsley Johnson said it best
They used to be called Ku Klux Klansmen, they are not called Young Republicans.

I think they should be rounded up and sent to the Reeducation Camps for non-liberals.

11. No one EVER understood the words to an Enya song
Sort of like a Bush press conference, except that when provided with Enya's text, you
could follow along. Bush's "English" was so full of tortured syntax that even Enya's
texts in Gaelic were easier to follow.

"I had to work," she said. "I had to earn the wealth that will be redistributed." She works in business development for a global law firm."

She's a 21st century ambulance chaser. I'm sure stalking companies for business is such an EXHAUSTING way to build your "wealth." :eyes:

And somebody 36 years old is in the YOUNG Republicans?? :wtf: Well, I guess considering that the vast majority of Repubs have one foot in the grave, anyone under probably 65 qualifies for Young Repub membership...

15. Of coruse you forget the words
Number 1, if you had any kind of intelligence, you wouldn't be a young republican.
Number 2, it's very difficult to remember words that are not in your vocabulary set, and after 8 years of hanging on every utterance by Bush, you probably need remedial English.
Number 3, it's easier to remember stupid things said than well-thought out and complete sentences.

16. They can't follow or understand because it was not short sentences with long pauses.
And it was not fear and smear like Bushies'. So of course they could not follow it.

Way to spew recycled RW talking points there, Laura. :eyes: They must start in on them early. And they accuse us young Dems/supporters of President Obama of "following blindly". Give me a break!

19. "I had to work. I had to earn the wealth that will be redistributed."...
...and she works in business development for a global law firm.

This person sounds a bit full of herself, eh?

She's probably drumming up business among the wheelers and dealers of the international banking industry, so her firm can make mucho $$$ while helping them escape prosecution for their unprecedented frauds and massive thefts. I'd not be surprised if that's how she "earns" the "wealth" she refers to. I'd be willing to bet she's not actually *creating* any wealth...

""I had to work," she said. "I had to earn the wealth that will be redistributed."

Laura sweetie, I've had to work my butt of to keep ahead of the debt that has be redistributed.

The sheer gall of the Coalition of the Willing never ceases to amaze me.
