Don't want to get into this "out there".
Do anyone of you know anything about Romania? Other than the msm stories? The reason I ask, is because my daughter went out with a guy last night that is from Romania. Been in the US for 4 years. (Very cute - good taste :), but I don't think she likes him that much) Anyway, I met him last nite for a few minutes, I was dying to ask a zillion questions but didn't want to scare him:crazy: BUT- he mentioned that his dad travels to Europe alot for his work. London was one of the places he mentioned. I asked if his dad was afraid to travel to London with all of the terrorist attacks over there. Listen to this answer he gave me! "No, he's used to it. There's alot more terrorist attacks going on than what is reported in the news". OMG!
My daughter has to like this guy, I have alot to find out. At least for a couple more dates!

You have to invite him over for dinner. Tell your daughter to not ditch him until after the dinner. Inquiring minds need to know. Our MSM sucks.

2. you know what's cool-- |

Young people in Europe and just about anywhere in the developed world, apart from the U.S. are much more tuned in to politics and world affairs. They are taught, I think, more world history and are miles ahead of our average students, most of whom are barely aware of their own governments most of the time.

3. it is true about the terrorist attacks |
|
things happen all over the world which isn't big news unless it happens to one of the wealthier nations.
Romania is a very poor country but an interesting one. it's a place i want to visit. most people probably know them for their gymnastic teams during the olympics.
i don't think you should be too afraid to ask him about the country. just tell him you are into politics ,history or whatever else which makes you interested in different places. he will take it as you being interesting in learning rather than as something personal against him.

6. We're lucky if the MSM reports on Iraq |
|
so it wouldn't surprise me at all to know that we're kept in the dark about other events. It seems like the media feels that if it doesn't effect us directly (or slightly indirectly like the London bombings) or if it doesn't effect our bottom line, we don't need to know about it. Hopefully you'll be able to chat with this young man another time!
