I must quit smoking. I had an acute MI in April and almost died. I have six stents in my heart and COPD. Smoking has ruined my health and I am ready to quit.
I have both prescriptions and would really like to try the Chantix first before I commit to an anti-depressant.
Appreciate any help and advice you can offer this soon-to-be ex-smoker...
thanx

I'd go with the Chantix. Best of luck, you sound ready and it will work this time.

and honestly if you are like me, we're justn going to have to do it with maybe one of the helpers, but bottom line we're going to have to do it for and by ourselves.

3. Chantix for sure. I quit smoking in 1992 and then relapsed in |

'07. I went on Chantix and it worked wonders. Then, I relapsed again in Oct. of '09. I picked up my prescription of Chantix just last weekend and am taking it now. You pick a target date to quit (you can smoke while taking Chantix)and the desire goes away quite quickly. It's only Tuesday, I started taking the medication on Saturday, and already I'm not wanting to smoke nearly as much. My target date is this coming Saturday and I feel very confident that I'll make it. A couple of things - Almost no insurance covers it and it's pretty pricey ($137) but when I think of what I've been spending on Cigs. it pales in comparison. Also, be prepared for some really weird dreams (at least this has been my experience). Good luck.

I did it with a guy named Frank Oden. It cost $250 for 4 hours of discussion of the Science of quitting, and the left brained right brained aspects of smoking followed by hypnosis. I never smoked again, and I went in thinking it would not work.
Take a trip to Denver and see this guy, seriously.
