I am going in for my third cold laser treatment. |
|
This therapy worked for me and was helpful, along with will power, for quite a while. But I am backsliding. Any encouragement would be appreciated.

1. If I can do it, anyone can. |

After 42 years of smoking and a 1000 tries I did it. A year later I've also lost 40 pounds and jog 3 days a week. Health was the great motivation. Just think, winter is coming and you don't want to stand out in 30 below weather to get a smoke.

The encouragement helps. I doubt myself so much.
That is about how long I have smoked. I need to stick with this. I plan to get back to the gym and get on a sensible diet, too, when I figure out a good plan. It has to be soon. I gained weight when I had my thyroid destroyed, and I can't stand it. I can't carry around all this weight. A good exercise routine is part of the plan, too.

The way you don't back slide is to not have the first puff. You are the one who lights the match and bends the elbow.
The first step to continuing doing well is recognizing it is not easy, or all who want to stop would succeed. That it is hard should not be a surprise. Every 5 min you don't think about it is a baby step to success.
The day you realize at 10 am you have not yet thought about a cigarette is when you are on your way.
You are always going to be vulnerable to them. I used to smoke 2 packs a day for 30 years, and have not had a puff since 5/5/1998, if I did, I would one day in the future have to quit again.
It's tough, you will want to rip out hair and hit your forehead on the wall. Do that. Just don't smoke.
There is life after cigarettes. I'm proof.
I wish you well. And luck has nothing to do with it.

I am doing well, not smoking, and not going as crazy as I could be.
