5. The best part was when he said we should chastise those who drive wedges between us |

Considering HE said that, I'm not sure I have to explain how comical that statement is.

I was switching channels all day yesterday (don't normally pay any attention to Faux) and hadn't even heard of Beck before that. I couldn't believe what he was saying. And people listen to this jerk??

13. It's fun to watch people you love to hate |
|
You know he is going to say something that will make you burn inside, but you just gotta watch. I am the same way... can't get enough of Joe the Plumber......Sarah Palin is a must watch..... but you know that you will completely disagree with them and there will be a WTF?!?!? thought bubble above your head the whole time. It must be something about human nature. At least that is my 2c.

I refuse to listen to. If I hear his voice I'm clicking to another station. I told CNN as much. I don't need to tell Faux News because I seldom use propaganda as a source of information.

14. Why are religious people the ones that spew the most hatred and/or divisiveness? |
|
Am I the only one who is amazed at how many of the supporters of any candidate in this last election, who happen to preachers or in some religious role, are the ones that spew the hatred and divisiveness that the candidates distance themselves from? You would think it would be the opposite.

15. He certainly does not disappoint |
|
I listened to his radio program yesterday on purpose to get a gist of the tone the right would be setting. I honestly think they have a central talking point dictated from official GOP headquarters. It takes all the self control I can muster not to implode into a black hole leaving a little pool of molten minerals on the car seat. What thinly disguised rampant racism! But trying to sound neutral and fair. That pisses me off more than anything. What is it he's trying to say about "only one" depiction of a black individual in art, at the White House? My interpretation is that such a ratio means that electing an African-American is disproportionate to the representation of the importance of black compared to white, in value to the contribution to society. Somehow Beck is saying that an African-American person is only a fraction of historical merit as symbolized by the amount of attention paid to representing Black hero's memorialized in sculpture. He just does it in that ditsy, whimsical, 'I not sure what I'm trying to say but something about this bothers me and my gut is always right', tactic. I really don't like his underhanded tactics.

16. There are only so many words that rhyme with "White" |
|
Let's cut Reverend Lowry some slack here.....
There are not that many words that rhyme with white and he had to pick one after committing to his poem. You saw how much trouble he had with yellow. I am not how I would have ended it, so I can't criticise this guy. Thinking out loud here a bit....Let's see...
Where being white....
"is a pure delight"? nah. "is really bright"? no. "is quite a site"? nope. "is a sign of might"?
I don't know about you, but I am just drawing a blank here.

17. The little poem about colors was a retelling of an old saying |
|
He changed each line to make the saying positive and a correction to the original. I don't remember the whole thing (I'm sure DUers of color could help us out here) but I remember that "yellow" and "mellow" were words in the original.

making a mountain out of a molehill. I liked the reverends poem. Certainly wasn't meant to divide anyone but quite the opposite.
