Have Hope! George W Bush's DNA is Apparently Not Passing Down!!

Sorry the video is from Fox, but picture horrified Fox News viewers hearing George W Bush's very own daughter saying that 'health care is a right for everyone' - and you'll understand the sounds you heard popping all over the country today were Republican & tea bagger heads.

_ _ _

First Laura Bush speaks about being pro-gay marriage & for abortion rights, now Barbara Bush says health care is a right - and on FoxNews no less ... There is hope that Democratic ideas are finally breaking through 'the membrane' of the GOP inner circles.

23. For the record......
Barbara and her sister Jenna was around Austin, Texas a lot. Austin Texas is the most liberal city in Texas. Jenna graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, and those girls were party animals. Their mother believes in abortion rights and gay marriages, and she was a Democrat before she married W. They along with John McCain daughter see what the Republican party has become. A party of white racist jerks and teabaggers that says unflattering things about their dad. So, it's not surprising their view of the world is different than their dad. You go girl!!!:toast:

24. She also went to Yale. At the time she was in New Haven, I didn't think
she'd be any different from her father and her partying ways drinking in bars in downtown New Haven and getting busted didn't change my opinion one bit! The son of a very good friend of mine was in her Yale class and told us that she was clueless on politics and asked him (this was in 2003), "Who is this Harold (sic) Dean?" Dean had a kid at Yale at the time, also.

So this is a surprise to me. Let's see where she goes with this...

20. Palin's a cut above the Bush women.
Palin is at least willing to rise and fall by her own political views. Bush women prop up right-wing men but want to be universally loved, themselves. Weasels, they are.

25. Opportunist, they are.
Their generation is one that is leaving the hard right in droves. It's one that is more tolerant of gays, interracial marriages; one that is concerned about the environment; one that is less involved in religious orthodoxy. Just might have finger on the pulse, might she. And why are we speaking like Yoda?

30. Not that I know them personally, but I think the twins...
are not snobbish and aloof as Barbara seems to be. Dare I say this, but I think Dumbya was more accepting of people moreso than his wife (at least he APPEARED to be). I read an exerpt from Barbara's book regarding the car accident, and even though she had great remorse, she still managed to question whether the accident was caused by a malfunction in the car :(

10. I probably shouldn't say this
but I don't trust her. Maybe I will change. Think I'm capable of that but will take some work...

This is a family which has profited by starting WWI, WWII, Korea, Cold War, Vietnam, all the 1980's ventures too numerous to mention, Both Gulf Wars, 9/11. Plenty of evidence connecting Barbara's grandpa Bush I to the Kennedy assassinations (plural), Bay of Pigs, overthrows in Guatemala, attempts of over throw of Cuba (plural) all sorts of atrocities foreign and domestic.

Plus Prescott armed Hitler a few years after his father Samuel Bush (Dubya's GREAT grandfather) coaxed Woodrow Wilson into the first World War. As CEO of Remington Arms Samuel Bush made the lions share of profits selling to BOTH the Kaiser and the Czar.

I believe (but will have to research) that maternal great great grampy George Herbert Walker made a "killing" through the slaughter of Native Americans.

Prescott is credited with stealing Geronimo's skull and giving it to Skull & Bones up at Yale.

And this is not including all the economic and (particularly!) environmental havoc the Bush family is well known for.

Folks, there is some serious stink clinging around that family. I was only getting warmed up in my criticism here too. That said the new Barbara seems a whole lot better than that bitch Liz Cheney.

Pleased to meet miz Cheney, may i call you bitch?

From those "liberals" who are always looking for some right-winger's boot to lick in exchange for some meaningless verbal concession, like what Laura Bush said about gay marriage.

47. She props up George W Bush.
She does nothing to advance her supposed political principles, so they are meaningless--just a personal preference. She appears quite content to leave politics to the (right-wing) menfolk of the family. She's pretty much the opposite of a feminist.

Edited on Tue Jun-15-10 10:49 PM by burning rain
that diverges from right-wing orthodoxy so long as she doesn't try to advance it politically or embarrass the menfolk in a political season. It's a permissible type of rebelliousness because it's politically ineffectual and thus harmless from a conservative point of view.

Same applies to countless tame Republican "feminists"/"independent women."

If any family needed one, that family does. She was a total cipher to me during the Bush years. I couldn't get any reading on her. Now I see why she played it so close to the vest.

Laura said she was only a republican by marriage. Maybe the other side of the family had some influence on Barbara. Or maybe she gets that she has to atone for her father's sins.

Hope springs eternal.

42. My parents were highly conservative
And so was I until the age of around 16, when I gradually started drifting leftward. Even then, there was no road to Damascus conversion, more a gradual evolution over time. I think the first issue I disagreed with them on was South African apartheid (this was back in the '80s) - I had a Free Nelson Mandela t-shirt, they thought he was a terrorist.

I don't care what anyone sharing DNA with the clan that Prescott Bush started has to say about anything.

The moment any Bush opens their mouths I assume they are either lying or manipulating opinion to push whatever agenda that clan of degenerates has decided to unleash on us.

Very sane talk. Just what needs to be said.

We could have used her voice at the health care summit when Senators Barrasso and Coburn (physicians both) shamefully emphasized that patients' first concern should be cost!

Young adults who think differently from their parents...what a surprise? Not!

I think its not only possible, but highly likely they're not clones of their father. The first thing most of us do is distance ourselves from our parents belief system...even if we do wonder back to them later in life.

That's a good idea. Of course, she may discover her own way to help people. Many people, rich and middle class and even the working poor find ways to help other people and you just never hear of it.

If she's interested, I hope she finds a positive way to make a difference.
