I think Hillary will win tomorrow... |
|
Barely. Why? Because I think enough voters will have enough doubt about Obama that will keep them from casting their vote for him. They are afraid of change. They will hesitate and go to the safe choice - Hillary. Also, I think John Edwards will finish third but will do a little better than predicted.
In the Republican primary, I think Mitt will win it. McCain will finish third, very close to the second place finisher, Huckabee. Just my guesses.

She said the Obama folks have a presence that is unfelt by the Hillary goers -- a passion that just is not there with Hillary. It's that grassroots stuff.

Today's CNN/University of New Hampshire poll shows Barack Obama with a strong and stable lead on the eve of the crucial primary. Here are the numbers, compared to the preliminary numbers released last night: Obama 39% (+0) Clinton 30% (+1) Edwards 16% (+0) Richardson 7% (+0) http://tpmelectioncentral.com/2008/01/cnnunh_poll_obama_ahead_by_nine_points.php

20. The tarot looks good for her. |
|
1. Situation: Eight of Swords
The stress of current circumstances requires that you set strong boundaries to protect your private life.
The card that lands in the Situation position refers to the circumstances you find yourself in with regard to your concern.
With the Eight of Swords in this position, your immediate environment may be filled with negativity, criticism and doubt. Clarify whether you are willing to sacrifice your own well being just to keep the peace.
In instances where irrational demands are being made of you, you owe it to yourself to question how much you are willing to put up with. You'll need to decide whether you still find value in this situation or whether the turbulence is just too stressful to withstand any longer.
2.Challenges/ Opportunities: The Moon
You are not adrift; you can navigate this extraordinary experience with skill.
The card in the Challenges/Opportunities position reflects how you can use creativity to turn a crisis or challenge into an opportunity.
The Moon in this position is a challenge to retain a modicum of self-consciousness while you sink deeply into your primal nature. As happens at full moon, something has loosened the flood gates of the collective unconscious and you are aware of the high tide as much as anyone.
It helps if you have trained your instincts and impulses not to override your self-discipline. When reason is eclipsed by feelings, your natural and psychic intelligence can provide a safety net. Once the floodgates of the unconscious are opened, you will be self-preserving and sensitive, leaving behind old patterns. Trust that your good reflexes will respond appropriately to what your sensors tell you is going on around you.
3.Advice: Seven of Wands
Rouse your ambition and the competitive aspects of your nature to push beyond limits. Launch yourself.
The card in the Advice position suggests a course of action which will harmonize what you want with what is currently possible.
The Seven of Wands in this position tells you that the time for peak performance is now. Even if slightly unprepared, you may want to push yourself beyond your usual limits, thinking in larger terms and tweaking your competitive nature. Time and effort spent in preparation could pay off handsomely. You might be the one who vaults right over the heads of those who thought they could outdo you.
Move beyond rhetoric and verbal challenges. Now could be the moment to prove what puts you head and shoulders above the rest by demonstrating it in action.
4. Daily Lesson: Nine of Swords
Accept that the world offers no guarantees.
The card in the Lesson position represents the personal investment or sacrifice required to derive full benefit from your current situation.
With the Nine of Swords in this position, you must sacrifice your romantic notion that certain relationships will forever carry you. In truth, the human condition is such that even the most wonderful people will at times let you down. Learn not to resent the world, or other people, for imperfections.
The real lesson may be that even your worst fear realized is not the end of the world. Recognize that something good can come of any bad break. The only real disaster would be to believe the present setback will cast a pall over your entire future. Learn to detach from your emotions a little; give yourself some silence to rest within.
5. Near Future: Queen of Coins
Be prudent. Concentrate on what is most realistic and practical when it comes to your immediate prospects.
The card in the Near Future position indicates which way the wind is blowing with regard to your situation. If you follow the Advice card, however, you can improve on or neutralize tendencies.
With the Queen of Coins in this position, you will soon have a chance to test your dream against reality. The effort and time you have invested in some enterprise or relationship is about to bear magnificent fruit.
We shall see how sensibly you behave when there are no external limits on where you spend your energy, talents and money. To maximize what is good about the Queen of Coins, you should focus on what is practical and sensible. Invest your energy and resources wisely. Otherwise her more exuberant side could take over and your gains will degenerate into one long, expensive party.

I'm wondering if Obama did so well in part because Edwards and Hillary were splitting votes. The people who do not see Obama as a viable candidate will most likely vote strategically, and that gives the win to Hillary.

36. Before Iowa, I thought so. |
|
But now... Obama has the momentum. If he wins NH (and I'm inclined to think he just might), there will be some soul searching in the Hillary Camp. I do not think she can win this primary without repudiating some of the triangulation and letting go of the establishment baggage.
Yeah, I think Mittens will win the primary in NH on the Repuke side, but just barely ahead of Huckabee.

37. Not only will Hillary lose tomorrow, but also in SC and Nevada... |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-07-08 09:20 PM by RiverStone
By the time she hits Super Tuesday, she will be on on a slippery slope of lost momentum. My guess is, it will be very difficult for her to pull out of that tailspin by then.
I'm an Edwards leaner, but I'll admit Obama has tapped into something really rare. It's hard to put it into words, but it "feels" like Obama may be destined to win the presidency. Just my subjective ramblings...
