McCain promises sessions like Prime Minister Questions |
|
It was just on Hardball a few minutes ago. In one of his speeches, McCain promised to allow Congress to question him like British Prime Minister's Questions.
First, my response is - never happen. But if it ever came to pass it would be a time for an immense bowl of popcorn. I doubt it would last.
I think McCain ought to ask for such a session right now to prove he can handle it.

1. It'd only be worth watching if the questions were delivered in regional British accents |

8. If it did, we'd have to have Pelosi in a powdered wig constantly demanding "order! order!" |
|
In general, it would be better if Congress was as lively as the House of Commons.

2. It would be fantastic. |

I've often fantasized about W being torn to pieces verbally by the opposition - and I can't imagine McCain faring any better.

5. I imagine McC becoming belligerent and walking out in a huff |
|
Given the gains we're probably going to make in November it would be a verbal bloodbath.

9. Why doesn't he start with the debates and we will see how many he signs up for. |
|
We all know that the GOP will run on one thing "compassionate conservatism" and govern differently the next day. To me McCain doesn't have any credibility when he says anything because he is close to the neocons and they believe in myth-making.

10. I can't wait till McCain is in debates |

And he gets called on all the different sides to each issue he's talked about. he's the great flip-flopper in memory.

11. Not only that but I'd love to see him defend the Iraq war without saying it was a mistake. |
