THE founder of WikiLeaks has issued a plea from jail for his supporters to keep fighting, accusing Visa, Mastercard and Paypal of being instruments of US foreign policy. <snip> “We now know that Visa, Mastercard and Paypal are instruments of US foreign policy. It’s not something we knew before." http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/story/2010/12/14/Julian-Assange-wikileaks-first-words-jail-plea/

7. Corporations keep the Government around because if they had to run things directly |
|
instead of running stuff as they do from the background, people would look to them to pay up when things start going wrong and blowing up. People would look for them, to blame them, when the country is on the rocks, or when some specific policy becomes widely unpopular.
The current arrangement is the arrangement because it is cheapest & easiest for the ruling class to maintain. They are not held responsible; they get all the benefits; and when they fuck up which is pretty frequently, they can still make us bail them out and compel us to restore the unjust status quo ante, through emergency assistance from the Federal Reserve, all backstopped by the tax levying powers of the US govt.
It's not so much that the credit institutions like MC, Visa, etc. are instruments of US foreign policy, but that the US government is the strong right arm of financial institutions' class interest. But, from time to time, the head of corporate Security has to lean over and whisper in his boss' ear to remind him that those customers over there are on the troublemakers list, and they will do more business if they refrain from doing business with troublemakers.

That it took an Aussie to expose the crippling ineptitude of your corrupt and standover system? I'm pretty OK with that.

You apologise for fucking MY head.
My head is fine. No apologies needed, no projection accepted and no inflated sense of self worth on your behalf paid attention to. Whoops, ended a sentence with 'to'. My bad.

Hell, it's what King George I pronounced. One World Order. So he must be making a very direct linkage.
Biden is from Delaware, the state OWNED by credit card companies. He voted for the bill that lets them take houses away from working and middle class families. The McMansions and vacation chalets aren't affected.
So how to e-pay then?

The digital age is very young, we have not yet seen any backlash of significance.
The next step will be the US gov trying to control the web, followed by its allies. I have the insurance file on my server, I have all the cables to date. What are you doing to support freedom of the internet?
