NATO to set up Baghdad police academy

NATO spokesman James Appathurai said the alliance would co-ordinate training of Iraqi officers outside the country, which Germany has said it will do in the United Arab Emirates.

Canadian officers have been and will continue to train Iraqis in Jordan as part of Ottawa's $300 million commitment toward the rebuilding of Iraq. However, Prime Minister Paul Martin said in New York on Wednesday there are no plans to send Canadian instructors to Iraq for training.
