Okay, so this here senator "comes clean," announcing that the writer of this despicable memo was a member of his staff. Hey, the senator had no idea, pure as the driven snow, kisses babies and helps old ladies across the street.

Let's assume that he's a nifty guy you'd like to have over for a barbecue. But he's also a guy who has as his legal counsel a man who could come up with those revolting talking points. He has a guy on his staff who has the power and reach to get these reprehensible views out among the faithful. He has a guy on his staff who clearly was willing (and able for some time) to conceal that he was the originator of this trash. I know he's a senator. Busy guy and all that. But, contrary to the principles of the republican party, the buck does have to stop somewhere, and someone in charge has to take responsibility. And he should be able to manage and guide a staff to ensure that this crap is nipped in the bud. But he didn't, did he? He hired and sought guidance from a man who saw political gain in the tragic demise of a fellow Floridian. He hired and kept on staff legal counsel that was prepared to deceive not only the senator but his colleagues, the media, etc.

Pathetic.
