And if you think that an herbivore can't be aggressive, you haven't met many deer. I've seen them literally chase down a car in order to jump in front of it. Their ecosystem niche really is as a cheap, dumb food source for wolves and the like. Don't get me wrong, I love looking out back of my house and seeing a herd crossing the field, but I'd love it even more if there were a bunch of wolves watching with me.
