I think there are plenty of angry leftists/progressives. It's just that the conservatives have been able to- hell, made a point to- get their angry factions all pointing in roughly the same direction.

On our side, we have angry environmentalists, health care advocates, civil rights activists, and many more. But my perception is that these groups, historically, fight for their cause but don't take a broader political position. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that the Dem Party leadership has not embraced these "angry" parts of our end of the spectrum. We're busy being centrist, and the other side is whipping their minions into a frenzy by making every single issue a monumental struggle between GOoD and dEVIL.
