...everyone should remember what hell Bill and Hillary went through with the attempted impeachment of THE LAST ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES....uh,....sorry - got carried away there. Please don't misunderstand, I felt many, if not most, of the charges of sexual misconduct leveled at Bill were politically driven and totally false. Of course that there little Monica thing was obviously true and none of us here would try to deny the obvious truth.

That being said, the whole thing with Shwarzwhoever is - and I mean this in all sincerity - a TOTALLY different thing. Bill Clinton's dallying with the ladies was 'off base', to put it mildly, but not of any concern to the public at large, as long as his private life didn't interfere with his ability to perform his job as POTUS. Shwarzenbanger, on the other hand, has always waved the 'family values' flag proudly, as all conservatives are wont to do, and decried the very hint of moral impropriety in any Democratic candidate or office holder, thus saying, in essence, that they, themselves, are FAR above reproach on such issues. We are, therefore, justified in pointing out this little hypocracy to the sheeple-at-large, and making it a campaign issue - an issue of HONESTY and TRUTHFULNESS.

Now, to my point, as regards Mrs. Shwarzendumber. It is NONE of our business whether she finds his behavior too much and leaves him, or whether she 'stands by her man', as it were (Not to say you were suggesting anything untoward, stlsaxman, regarding their situation). The repugs wanted us to believe that Hillary was somehow 'consumed with her own visions of power' or 'taking one for the team' instead of just maybe she LOVES her husband and is willing to work things out with her lifelong partner. Mrs. (uh, ok, I'll stop the jabs at Shwarzengroper)...Maria will have to work things out for herself on this one, and all of us here at DU should be content to let her do just that.
