Assuming that the GOP Congress, against metaphysical certitude, allows the vote on the artilces to take place, where are the votes? Assuming that the articles can get out of committee, which is extremely unlikely, even if ALL Democrats voted for it, including Steinholm, Hall, Taylor, and Lucas, you would still not have enough votes. You would have to get a good 20-30 Republican to vote AGAINST their own president.

In the Senate then, where 2/3rds of the votes are needed to convict, what 20-25 GOP Senators are you going to get to vote AGAINST their own president?

Face reality. Bush isn't going to be impeached.
