that an American revolution would have to be Marxist? According to the classic definition of revolution, the point of the exercise is to re-establish proper political order as defined by the needs of the citizenry, Marx is only one of many revolutionaries that have offered alternatives, not a revolution to a prior form of governance. Furthermore, I, as an historian, find the premise of your statement essentially chauvinistic. No country has had the room to develop a Marxist society because the capitalist system has been in attack mode since the Renaissance; consequently the 20th century has been about rape and pillage of the sort * is engaged in in Iraq. if the pollution of capitalist propaganda wasn't so far-reaching, people would sign up for 99% of Marxian ideals. Read your history books again...
