I spent about $300 evacuating to Ohio from Florida last year (to stay with relatives) 3 nights in (cheap) hotels plus gas. I saw others camped out on the side of the freeway. That's a better spot to be than in the middle of a hurricane zone, believe me.

But still, if I hadn't had a car, I don't know what I would have done!
