White House press secretary Scott McClellan has rejected the notion that there were problems with Houston's evacuation and said the president was told it had gone well.

Sen. Susan Collins, a Republican from Maine who chairs the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said four years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the response to the hurricanes should have been much better.
