Join the Nazi Party and swear allegiance to Hitler (after all, Hitler and Germany were the same thing) or else you'll lose your job - and anyplace in Germany you might want to find work will know why you were fired and won't hire you.

In a book I am reading about Germany before and during WW2, the author interviews an engineer who refused to take the oath at first and they gave him 24 hours to reconsider. He thought about it and realized if he didn't take the oath he would never work again and his family would suffer. He went back the next day and took the oath, rose in prominence and used his position to get people out of the country.

Just one more example of how we are following that path...
