You realize there are more than 40 people on this thread and 95% of them have given you many, many reasons why you are wrong. Leaping on one of the less relevant ones doesn't make the others go away.

I don't believe in much, but I do believe there's a terrible price to be paid for indifference to the suffering of others.

For your sake, I hope you never have to experience watching your child slowly starve to death while you're helpless to save it all so people thousands of miles away can drive big pretty vehicles and feel superior to all the socially-responsible suckers who actually give a shit about other people.

You feel sorry for people who drive matchboxes? Why don't you feel sorry for the literally billions of people on the planet who will never be able to own any kind of car at all? Who live in parts of the world where the average life expectancy is 40? Who have to sit and watch their children crying with hunger every night knowing that even if they literally work themselves to death, they'll never be able to afford enough food for their families?

Filling the tank of an average SUV once represents the same amount of food it would take to feed a grown man for a year. There is absolutely no justification on earth for driving gas guzzling status symbols while large swathes of humanity are forced to choose between putting food on the table and sending their kids to school or buying medicine.

But I guess you already knew that, or you wouldn't be resorting to the kind of desperate self-justification evident in your post.
