What if this guy left the same exact message calling a liberal group 'Mentally Retarded'

Would we celebrate him as a hero?
Would we encourage people to use Geico for hiring such an amazing person?
Would we make him the poster boy of DU?


No, we would be insisting that Geico fire him for using such an insultive phrase or suggesting a boycott if he wasn't fired.

Folks, we are looking like hypocrites in a big way by treating this guy as a hero simply because the offensive insult he used was against a group we do not like. If that group was anyone else other than a right-wing organization we'd be spitting nails at the person who left that message.

Just because we don't like the Tea Party group doesn't make what he said politically correct.

Perhaps Geico should have forced an apology or reprehended him instead of firing. But I don't think Geico was that far out of line with what they did. That was wrong for him to leave a message like that and it's wrong for us to think this guy was somehow a cause for celebration.
