How Good is the economy at creating good jobs?

Interesting paper by the Center of Economic and Policy Research, on good jobs now as opposed to in 1979.
They define good jobs as $32k a year with bennies. Basically despite an increase in per person GDP of 60% since '79, an older and better educated work force, most working people are actually doing worse today.
Keep in mind that 1979, for those on as geezerly as me, marks the start of the Reagan era.
