18. The article is seriously flawed
Not so fast. The article is seriously, seriously flawed.

Why do you think that Iranian armaments wouldn't have English markings on them? Iran exports all kinds of military equipment. English is the international standard language. The Iranians use it for their products that they make. Iran also doesn't export munitions with their own indigenous calendar.

What you see in the image is on the reverse of the mortar

Go to their DIO website:

http://www.diomil.ir/en/home.aspx

Examine the products that they make with English stencils:

Oh look an 81mm mortar and NOT the Pakistani one that someone claims it to be:

"Over dlrs 100m worth of military equipment exported last year

Tehran, April 18 2005, IRNA

Iran exported over 100 million dollars worth of various military equipment last year.

Head of the Defense Committee of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Reza Talaei Nik told IRNA here Monday Iran has potentials to increase its military equipment export as much as five times its present level.

The MP from Bahar and Kaboutar Ahang added, several countries have so far expressed their readiness to purchase Iran's modern military equipment.

He cited "Eastern price and Western quality" as the most important feature of the country's military products.

He stressed the importance of strengthening Iran's military and defense power under current circumstances that the country faces major challenges including its nuclear dossier, regional developments and the increasing trend of arms purchase by certain regional states, and the US long-term policies on changing structures of the Middle East region.

The Defense Committee of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission is composed of seven MPs."
