LEAA Applauds Senators for Voting 91 to 8 to Allow
Police to Carry Concealed Firearms

National Cop Carry May Be Killed By Anti-Gun Amendments

Washington, DC LEAA Executive Director and retired police officer Jim Fotis commended the United States Senate for their astonishing and overwhelming bi-partisan 91-8 vote today to allow qualified off duty and retired law enforcement officers to carry their firearms nationwide. This legislation (formerly S. 253) was an amendment to the S. 1805 "The Lawful Protection of Commerce in Arms Act."

ok, after a little digging I found this out. The cop concealed carry bill was added as an amendment to S. 1805 which was the proposed bill to exempt fireamrs manufacturers from lawsuits. That amentment passed by a 91-8 vore with Kerry voting FOR it: http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=108&session=2&vote=00026

The overall bill exempting firearms manufacturers from lawsuits failed, however by a vote of 90-8 (I think.) So, the email you got is bull crap. Kerry supported cop concealed carry.
