that it seems such a waste of experience and dedication to a cause for him to not return (in some capacity) to counter-terrorism.

He's already sworn, under oath, to not take a position in Kerry's administration should he win the election. I wonder if he could sign on as an outside consultant.

It really worries me that we have lost so many of the experienced and competent players in the last few years. I think it leaves us with a vulnerability.

Sigh..... at least we'll have Rand Beers.
