considering that the typical american, if they have an approximately 1/2 acre lot, has approximately 1 nagasaki bomb's worth of "depleted uranium" (i.e., U-238) in the upper foot of soil on their property (based on the reasoning presented in the original post).

how is anyone surviving?

p.s. of course naturally-occurring radon (a decay product of U-238) that seeps into your basement is much more dangerous than the du itself
