43. I'm not in Madrid, but see slightly different info on TVE.
Yesterday's news showed the leaders of all the major parties reacting to Zapatero's decision, and all were positive except for Rajoy (Partido Popular).

Zapatero has referred in speeches to his promise as having been made in Feb. of last year (2003).

News yesterday showed some troops leaving for Iraq as part of a rotation to relieve those who are there now, saying that only 190 out of an originally planned 240 were being sent.

I've heard six weeks and eight weeks (TV news and newspapers) as the time frame.
