36. Like it or not
i'm still here.

Had to get out and away for a while to get my mind off of things. Went to visit my mom and dad. They are pissed at the turn of events. Esp. since my words to them this morning were:

"Don't worry, K/E said the votes were going to be counted. It was a campaign promise. They won't concede."

10 minutes after i hung up, i read the news here.

Riding over to their house i have a stretch of about 20 miles hiway through rural NC. Up until today it was literally covered with campaign signs from every party/race of 2004. Today, there were none...ZERO.
The only ones i saw at all were the *moron/dickhead (B/C) signs in a few yards in the neighborhoods. And they had been moved to the street so you couldn't miss them. They weren't that prominant in the last weeks when i went over.

And there was not 1, not a single K/E yardsign. Very few cars on the road, and on those i spotted 1 K/E. In the past few months they were everywhere.

It there was any consolation in what i saw today, it was this. I think many many NC supporters of 'the Johns' felt damn rejected, as i do.
