The Repukes were so brilliant and cleaver in manipulating the winger Holy Rollers to grab a real gob of power. But there are problems.

In this consumer-driven economy, holiness is next to economic death!! Corporate America needs sex and sleaze and sex and violence, and sex and booze and sex and cigarettes and some more sex in order to "sex up their products" and sell them. They need sex and violence to get people to watch the programs or buy the magazine so they can hype the crap they are selling. And a society that says you should spend half your time in church is not good for any industry except the Bible printers. That's when people stop thinking of material goods and eating out and theme parks and bigger-bigger houses (gasp---how unAmerican)and give to the Church instead.

After days of spouting that "moral values" took the day in the election, I see many media whores are amending that to state that only 22% cited that as a reason while 38% combined were voting because of Iraq or terrorism. And, now they are hyping "trouble for Bush in his own ranks". I think they suddenly realized "moral values" (are you ready for some football and locker room nudity)could blow this crawling economy right back into the dark ages.
