My family-owned cable company sold to Rightwing Evangelicals

Our local cable company was family-owned until very recently. When there was a problem the owner answered the phone and sent someone out if necessary. The scrolling TV guide that runs on channel 2 used to play our local NPR affiliate in the background and had Grateful Dead Fridays.

Recently the family sold out to Bresnan Communications (from NY) and the TV guide plays Christian music and prayer all of the time. I have to mute it just to tolerate it!

Bresnan has given loads of money to the RNC and Republican candidates and PACs. They've even given to Tom DeLay! (http://www.opensecrets.org/indivs/search.asp?NumOfThou=0&txtName=Bresnan&txtState=NY&txtZip=&txtEmploy=&txtCand=&txt2004=Y&txt2002=Y&txt2000=Y&Order=N)

My family is Jewish. Why the HELL do we have to hear Christian music on our cable TV?

This country has gone crazy.

I am cancelling my cable today. If you have Bresnan, I suggest the same action. By the way. I live in a small, fairly liberal town in Colorado. My only other TV access choice is satellite.
