50. "Get tired" of one's foundation?

Don't they ever get tired of it and just want to start talking truth and being honest with themselves?

That'd be quite similar to a fundie questioning his/her belief in god and the scriptures. It's unthinkable, because they live in a mindset of faith-as-foundation, and if they start thinking W just might not walk on water after all, they might have to question everything else they hang onto so tightly.

That's why we see so much justification, rationalization and subject-changing by the *ies. If they consider (much less accept) that the Wregime is wrong, it isn't just about the Wregime — it's about them, and their core beliefs.

The same can be said of liberals, of course — except that we don't seem to worship our icons to nearly the same degree. (Most of us concede that Clinton fucked up a few times, but how often do you hear an asshat admit that W was ever wrong about anything?)
