<snip> The rubbernecking mishaps happened after several U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents made a high-risk traffic stop on westbound I-10 near the Miracle Mile exit, just before 10 a.m., said Officer James Oien, an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman.

<snip> After agents and officers handcuffed the suspected illegal entrants, the group sat on a dirt shoulder in the sun. They had been riding in the cab of the silver pickup while others were hidden under a piece of plywood that covered the bed.

The coyotes (two legged variety) have had shoot outs on the roads in the past. Now, groups handcuffed and sitting on a very narrow shoulder of a heavily traveled shoulder gets the attention motorists should be giving their driving. It is getting very dangerous to go for a car ride in AZ. The return of Wild West conditions on today's streets and still no real progress in stopping illegal immigration.

Silly idea to consider:
How about trying to make roads in the Southwest less dangerous, help keep desperate job seekers from dying in the heat trying to cross Arizona, save some wear and tear on law enforcement/border patrol and start seriously busting the EMPLOYERS who hire illegals.

Knock off the silly stop-gap measures that do not dissuade illegals from taking their chances with Coyotes, the elements and the Border Patrol. Change the tactic which endangers workers in law enforcement, and everybody on the road when something goes down. Arrest & Prosecute the people profiting from the whole mess. Go after the employers and come down hard on them.
