Why would any American root AGAINST the US? Even though I was anti-invasion, when we actually went in, I hoped that the Iraq invasion would be over soon (I was right), and that our action, however much I disagreed with it, would result in a peaceful occupation (obviously false) and a blossoming, glorious democracy taking root in Iraq (also false).

I always hope for the best. That said, with Shrub in power, I generally expect the worst.
