20. Why vote for a man that loved Reagan, and still does to this day
Edited on Tue Sep-23-03 04:00 AM by IndianaGreen
when we can vote for John Kerry?

Assuming that the Democratic Convention is hell-bent in nominating a war hero, why would we vote for a man that loved Reagan (voted twice for him), and still does to this very day?

Clark's position on the Iraq war is identical to John Kerry's. The difference between the two is that Kerry cast that vote for the war, and he is now paying for it. Clark has waffled his Iraq position far more than Kerry has his, and unlike Kerry, Clark has written some pretty damning stuff in which he gushes enthusiasm for the war without a word about its legality, or the cost in civilian casualties.

Given the choice between Clark and Kerry, I would choose Kerry. Unlike Clark, Kerry is a Democrat through and through. One dumb vote on the war did not negate decades of public service while adhering to Democratic ideals.

Kerry does not bring the baggage of NATO's tactics in the war in the former Yugoslavia, and what Human Rights Watch described as the "cavalier" attitude of NATO regarding civilian casualties.

I am resigned to the fact that Clark is the darling of white males, many of whom had never served in the military!
