6. I was always curious about this, too

I knew that Pike and Scioto counties would be very close in 2004 -- which they were. The margin of difference in those two counties was the dogged effort of some fundie churches to send their folks out to vote for W and against gays. But it was damned close.

I had expected the same types of numbers from Adams and Brown counties (especially Adams), and was shocked to see the final numbers from them. Believe me, it should have been closer, but since these are poor, rural counties with not many votes to speak of, I don't think it (the lopsided vote) was ever investigated. Frankly, I think the GOP fraud machine snuck by us in those counties and they figured no one would notice. Well, I noticed but I'm nobody, so perhaps this election will make someone, ANYONE in the Democratic Party realize there were some shady dealings going on in certain rural counties of SE Ohio! I've been screaming and yelling about SE Ohio being ripe for Dems for years now and suddenly its becoming -- I hope -- very clear I wasn't just blowing smoke.
