71. It's illogical to tell someone else how to feel.
People feel the way they feel. It's what you do about the feeling that counts. I'm not always successful in combatting negative feelings with action, but that is the model of what should be done.

In J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy, he points out that it's not over until it's over and that to despair and give up is wrong. I think it's wrong to believe either extreme. Some people will look at the president's low approval rating and say, "Yea! We've won!" and give up. Some will look at the president's low approval rating and say, "Damn, we can't even get rid of him now!" and give up.

All I'm saying is that the actions that follow a feeling are important. It's nearly impossible to control a feeling; however, we can control actions.

Now, Ladyhawk, listen to your own advice for once. :D
