CHavez speaks like a real Christian with a kind philosophy guiding his words and deeds. Koppel did the standard interview format that doesn't lend itself to challenging ideas. He seemed to sigh (I'm just reading the transscript) when he heard that oil would keep flowing to the US. and "on that happy note," he wrapped up the interview, like a spent lover rolling over and falling asleep. As if that's all he wanted from Chavez. Can't put my finger on why this impression is so strong.
