19. To be fair to Thomas, after another 10 years seasoning on the bench, he's
starting to think on his own, write a couple of opinions, even vote against Scalia on two to four cases per year. It takes about ten years for many young judges to get to the point where they're comfortable writing complex opinions and arguing the critical constitutional questions that come before appellate courts. I think it's wonderful that the Bushes have found it in their hearts to give opportunities for learning and growing to some of America's young, inexperienced lawyers.
