questionable "terror alerts" have coincided with bad news for the Bushies. Keith is clearly outraged at this manipulation of human fear for political gain and he is going to lower the boom. There will be segments about this in tonight's (Tues) and tomorrow's show. Tonight's will be a "postmortem" on the most recent example in New York, and tomorrow's will show how THIRTEEN terror alerts coincided with BAD NEWS for the Bushies. Let's hope these reports open eyes that have previously refused to see.

Keith lost friends on 9/11 and comprehends the psychological damage that this despicable political ploy inflicts. Then too, as in the story of the little boy who cried wolf too many times, if there is a REAL terror alert, how many will pay attention? I have a feeling that these shows, especially the Wednesday one, are going to be filled with that direct, honest outrage that only Keith Olbermann brings to TV News. Let's hope these reports open eyes that have previously refused to see.

There's much more brewing now about that latest terror threat...

Yesterday New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said police would be ``slowly winding down'' the intensity of subway patrols, after the target date cited in a federal warning about a possible terrorist attack passed without incident.

As Pete Williams said in his report last night, those arrests in Iraq turned up nothing. "Law enforcement officials say today that investigations in the Iraqi city where three men were arrested last week, in response to a tip ... turned up no evidence whatsoever of any plan to attack New York. That includes giving the three men lie detector tests, searching their computers, and checking their phone call records."

Tonight... a postmortem on this latest terror threat, which officials at Homeland Security had said was of doubtful credibility.

And on Wednesday, Keith takes a closer look...
As he said yesterday, "...we spoke of at least thirteen coincidences of timing, between bad political news for the government, and a terror or terror-related event... We will be presenting a special report detailing those coincidences on Wednesday night's edition."

New York Subway Terror Threat Eases, Police Reducing Patrols

Oct. 10 (Bloomberg) -- New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said police would be ``slowly winding down'' the intensity of subway patrols, after the target date cited in a federal warning about a possible terrorist attack passed without incident.

Bloomberg, who put the city on alert last week after being warned that an attack could come Sunday, Oct. 9, said the city will remain at the same state of heightened vigilance that it has since Sept. 11, 2001, when terrorists killed 2,749 in an attack on the World Trade Center.

``Since the period of the threat now seems to be passing, I think over the immediate future we'll be slowly winding down the enhanced security,'' Bloomberg said at a news conference today before taking part in a Columbus Day Parade on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue.

Bloomberg, accompanied by Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, said the city would again assign officers to patrol trains and search riders' bags if a similar threat is received in the future, even after Homeland Security officials said the latest warning was of ``doubtful credibility.''
